Description

SAIC is seeking an Electrical Engineer for the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) major systems. This program will be part of a transformative venture, driving the future of next generation ice-breakers and enhancing the Navy and Coast Guard's polar mission effectiveness in response to evolving strategic and environmental demands.

Duties:
  • Perform Engineering of stage 4 and 5 test procedures development and test execution project for USCG Polar Security Cutter C5ISR systems.
  • Plan and delivery of high-quality engineering deliverables including contract CDRLS in support of program requirements.
  • Develop, update, and maintain project engineering documents including stage 4 and 5 test procedures for C5ISR systems.
  • Communicate to assigned Program Manager all key project plans, and engineering changes including requirements, C5ISR systems configurations and status, schedule, and scope changes.
  • Maintain and enhance all project engineering processes and workflows.
  • Develop, document and revise project engineering processes and quality standards.
  • Collaborates across all functions within project.
  • Assess engineering change proposals and document risks and impacts to project milestones and deliverables.
  • Continuously improve execution processes.
  • Support the proactive identification and mitigation of risks .
  • Communicate assigned Engineering plans and status, and escalate issues as required.
  • Provide status of project tasks and milestones
  • Works with the multidisciplinary technical team to ensure successful shipboard industrial test procedures development and testing.

Qualifications

Requirements:
  • Bachelors EE and nine (9) years or more relevant experience with one or more shipboard C5ISR systems: radio communication racks, Interior Communications(Alarm/Safety/Warning), shipboard CGOne/Unclass/SIPRNET LANs, Surface Search Radar, Navigation Distribution system, Integrated Bridge System; Masters and seven (7) years or more related experience
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Valid US Passport
  • Prior experience providing support for a shipyard environment project

Desired Quals & Experience:
  • Three (3) years or more relevant experience with shipboard C5ISR experience on one or more of these systems: radio communication racks, shipboard CGOne/Unclass/SIPRNET LANs, Surface Search Radar, Navigation Distribution system
  • Proficiency of Microsoft Office suit.
  • Experience with shipboard cableways, cables and connectors including fiber, coaxial, cat5, and twisted pairs
  • Familiar with C4ISR/C5ISR Interface Control Documents, Block diagrams, and Functional Interface Drawings.
  • Experience with MIL-STD-2106 Development of Shipboard Industrial Test procedures
  • Specific experience with shipboard Gyrocompass and Military enhanced Global Positioning System is desirable.
  • Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) IAT level I
  • Prior experience working in a Firm Fixed Price environment
