The Johns Hopkins University Student Health & Well-Being (SHWB) is seeking a Director of SHWB Technology Systems, Data and Reporting Strategist as part of the central office team and reporting to the Vice Provost for Student Health and Well-Being. The Student Health & Well-Being (SHWB)Practice Group provides holistic services that are accessible, inclusive, equitable, and high quality in order to foster a proactive, supportive culture and enhance students and trainees experience at Johns Hopkins University while preparing them to lead fulfilling personal and professional lives. Our integrated service delivery model provides dynamic health promotion and well-being support and programming, student disability services including guidance and resources, and in-person primary and mental health care options at our clinics as well as remote support through phone and online resources to JHU students and learners across all nine schools within the University.

We define well-being as an optimal and dynamic state that allows people and communities to achieve their full potential. By focusing on the whole the whole person, the whole educational experience, the whole institution, the whole community well-being becomes a multifaceted goal and a shared responsibility for the entire institution.

This position is a full-time position in the East Baltimore/ Homewood/ District of Columbia office with a requirement for availability to travel to other Baltimore area campuses and the DC

campus for program delivery and in-person meetings, when necessary. This position's central office will be at the Homewood campus and have a hybrid option (at least three days in-person, may vary during the year and cycle of work).

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Provides technical leadership, oversight, and management of SHWB applications, electronic health records (Point and Click), disability accommodation information system (AIM), PowerDMS, and any future SHWB systems and technology.
  • Define, create, and implement a comprehensive SHWB IT methodology inclusive of all departments, and applications, and in alignment with division goals and strategic initiatives
  • Provide administrative oversight of SHWB data, assessment, and research efforts.
  • Ensure alignment of assessment activity with the university, division, and units strategic plans.
  • Responsible for monitoring progress, using data toward strategic initiatives, and technology solutions, and reporting assessment results to the VP for SHWB.
  • Collaborates with the SHWB leadership team to identify opportunities for data-driven insights and performance improvement and support evidence-based decision-making.
  • Forecasts trends and stays abreast of emerging health, wellness, and disability technology systems in the marketplace and recommends as appropriate to invest into new systems and functions and sunset current systems that best meet the mission and goals of the division.

Product Management

  • Serve as liaison to University Student Services (USS) IT and Central IT to support the organization s technology infrastructure and integration.
  • Develops recommendations for standards, policies, and procedures to guide technology system organization, operations, utilization, administration, and business continuity.
  • Coordinates consideration of recommendations by the VP for SHWB and the senior team.
  • Formalizes approved measurers and ensures implementation of new or revised technology functions and systems communicating changes and coordinated training with affected units and staff members.
  • Leads interactions with SHWB units stakeholder departments and outside vendors for planning, implementation, and evaluation of projects and management of existing systems.
  • Manage, implement, and evaluate third-party/ contract systems such as TimelyCare, SilverCloud, Calm App, etc. in partnership with the Director of Operations and relevant SHWB leadership team members to provide outcome data and assessment.

Reporting Analysis

  • Work in partnership with USS Assessment and Analysis and University Institutions Research with the support of a data analyst to create reports that assist the unit and university in making data-driven decisions regarding services, programs, interventions, and budgets.
  • Develops public-facing dashboards monitoring key performance indicators, outcomes, and other metrics.
  • Collaborates closely with the Director of SHWB Operations, Public Health Officer, Strategic Initiatives Project manager, and departmental managers in providing yearly service reports to the schools as well as triaging and fulfilling other requests for SHWB data.
  • In alignment with division and unit KPIs designs, develops, and manages system interfaces, data collection, analysis, and reporting.

Supervision

  • Supervises Systems Analyst/ Manager of SHWB Data Informatics.
  • Serve as a delegate on behalf of SHWB and the VP for SHWB on campus committees or special projects.

Special Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:

  • Demonstrates commitment to leadership in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
  • High level of analytical and critical thinking skills, including the ability to generate organized reporting tools and statistics.
  • Experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms preferably in health-related fields.
  • Experience creating internal dashboards to assist with business improvement and public information dashboards.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data analytic and visualization software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills specifically in presenting complex data to a variety of audiences.
  • Experience working in a highly complex, decentralized, diverse environment and working with and across multiple teams.
  • Ability to work independently, assess situations, prioritize, and respond appropriately.
  • Requires a willingness to accept change and demonstrate flexibility.
  • Experience working with diverse datasets, including protocols for optimizing data hygiene and working with sensitive and confidential data.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor s Degree required in information technology, informatics, data and computer science, public health, health sciences, or closely related fields.
  • Five years of related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master s Degree preferred.
  • Two years of data analytics in a health care of higher education setting.
  • Two years of data management experience with knowledge of data and reporting concepts along with exposure to applicable tools and language within a major Electronic Health Records system.
