Schneider Electric USA, Inc. seeks a Control Systems Field Service Engineer in Houston, TX.
Job Description: Performing preventative maintenance visits and provide on-site remedial support, documenting and delivering reports. Ensure that the customer's system is updated to the latest software, quick fixes, and hardware. Prepare upgrade plans for the customer's systems and deliver them to the customer. Follow all technical procedures and tools for Global Service. Provide technical review of orders for clients and any other proposals requested to perform. Analyze technical risk of expansion projects and upgrades. Attend technical training that includes systems and instruments, application, process control, communication, and safety. Support Sales as required and directed by Regional Service Manager to secure orders and service agreements. Understand and enforce Schneider Electric contractual obligations on major projects and ensure customer satisfaction. Perform system testing, factory acceptance testing (FAT) and develop test documents. 50% domestic travel required on US West Coast to client sites for facility PM and break fix. Eligible for 100% remote work, reporting to Houston, TX worksite.
Requirements: Position requires a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering field and 5 years of progressive, post-bachelor's experience in maintenance of Triconex systems and Foxboro Industrial Automation DCS, or closely related occupation, which must include at least some experience with the following skills: Installing hardware and software, performing configuration, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues; Installing, configuring and troubleshooting HMI (Human Machine Interface) software, DCS (Distributed Control Systems), and field instrumentation; Handling critical safety systems, including PLC's, Communication protocols, Networking and System Security, Foxboro, and Wonderware; and Installing safety systems in oil & gas, power plant, and petrochemical plant industries.
