Job Details

On April 15th, 2025 the United Medical Center permanently (UMC) closed as Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health opened to service the residents in Ward 8. OCTO's Enterprise Cloud and Infrastructure Service's (ECIS) team has been asked to support the the closure of UMC including providing data, infrastructure, networking, and telecommunication services.

ECIS is looking for a qualified resource to serve as Telecom & Infrastructure Engineer to provide expertise related to the operation of a healthcare facility.

Lead the phased deactivation and documentation of voice/data infrastructure (PBX, VoIP, switches, wireless access points, etc.) in alignment with hospital closure timelines.
Oversee the final state management of all unified communications systems, including mobile device inventory, MDM deregistration, and secure device wipe.
Coordinate removal of telecommunications cabling, network switches, and patch panel reconfiguration to support facility repurposing or full vacancy.
Dismantle IP telephony and paging systems while maintaining minimal functional service for remaining essential staff until full closure.
Support the deactivation and final archiving of video surveillance systems (CCTV), ensuring retrieval of legally required footage per security retention policies.
Document and tag remaining telecom hardware for reassignment, resale, or certified e-waste destruction.
Assist with transferring telecom contracts, licenses, or numbers as required to the acquiring organization.
Remain available for emergency support and incident response related to communication systems until full handover or shutdown.
