Description
We are looking for a skilled Network Engineer to manage the complete installation of Starlink internet services and new network equipment at a marina location in Jamestown, Kentucky. This contract position requires an experienced individual capable of handling hardware installations, network configurations, and troubleshooting tasks independently. Responsibilities:
Direct and execute the installation of Starlink satellite internet systems, including mounting hardware and ensuring optimal alignment.
Organize and install cabling from Starlink equipment to the telco closet, maintaining clean and documented setups.
Perform circuit cutovers, replacing outdated network appliances with Meraki hardware.
Configure network equipment to ensure seamless integration with Meraki systems and confirm connectivity settings.
Conduct minor wiring tasks, including cutting and patching cables for functional and neat installations.
Collaborate with on-site contractors to achieve successful deployment outcomes.
Document installation processes and configurations, maintaining detailed notes for future reference.
Diagnose and resolve connectivity or hardware issues during installation.
Provide and utilize personal tools and equipment required for the job.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role, with expertise in hardware installation and network configuration.
Proficiency with Cisco Meraki systems and understanding of network appliances.
Familiarity with Starlink satellite hardware and its configurations is preferred.
Hands-on experience with circuit cutovers and transitioning legacy equipment to modern network setups.
Skilled in running, cutting, and patching network cables to ensure clean installations.
Strong troubleshooting abilities to resolve technical issues independently.
Ability to work autonomously and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent are a plus.
