Our client is a global organization, recognized as one of the largest in its field! They are experiencing rapid growth and undergoing a significant digital transformation. The leadership team is highly focused on technical initiatives and is looking for passionate individuals to contribute to the advancement and development of their application environment. They are seeking a Sr Cloud Engineer to come in and hit the ground running both within projects they have undergoing and planned for 2025 and 2026.
This role offers a hybrid work schedule! (2-3 days/week on-site)
Position Summary:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud architectures in Azure and AWS.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or CloudFormation.
- Implement and manage cloud governance, cost optimization, identity/access management, and security controls.
- Use analytical skills, consult with existing and create new documentation to troubleshoot issues affecting cloud services, systems, and applications
- Collaborate with DevOps, security, application development, and data teams to ensure cloud solutions meet business and technical requirements.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensure the reliability of cloud-based systems.
- Drive automation and process improvements across the cloud ecosystem.
- Stay current with evolving cloud technologies and best practices and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to project timelines
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across teams.
Experience
- 7+ years of experience in cloud engineering or architecture roles.
- Advanced hands-on experience with both Microsoft Azure and AWS platforms
- Understanding core AWS & Azure security tools and auditing capabilities
- Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation and developing scripts for future reuse
- Understanding of the various IT infrastructures and application stacks
- Experience working with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Alerts etc
- Experience with cloud-native services such as Azure Functions, AWS Lambda, Apache, API Gateway, etc.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash)
- Experience with containerization using Kubernetes, preferably on AWS
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnosis skills across technologies
- Understanding compliant environments including PCI, ISO, etc
- Solid understanding of networking, security, monitoring, disaster recovery, and high availability in cloud environments
- Working knowledge of cloud cost management and performance tuning.
- Relevant certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, or similar is a plus
- Bachelor s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related discipline is preferred.
