Senior Director, Data Engineering

Location: Florham Park, NJ-Onsite

Full Time Position

5 days onsite per week

Job Summary:

The Senior Director, Data Engineering will empower the organization to make the best decisions possible by providing an accurate, timely and useful data platform to help address critical business questions, where the outputs will enable the organization to improve operational and economic outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs and develops data models to predict outcomes and future impact of key business decisions.
  • Defines and implements pipelines to ingest, cleanse and normalize data from multiple different sources.
  • Serves as the resident data expert and shares best practices/approaches for statistics, machine learning techniques, data modeling, simulation, and advanced mathematics.
  • Ensures metrics are up to date and are calculated according to set rules.
  • Performs hands-on analyses on large volumes of transaction-, and customer-level data.
  • Assists with definition and implementation of best practices for data storage and retention
  • Collaborates with key leaders and others to build analytical acumen across the organization.
  • Implements and oversees the automation of regular reporting processes to ensure timely and accurate data dissemination.
  • Supports development of measurement strategies, learning agendas and roadmaps with input from senior team members and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide support during partner on-boarding to include data ingestion, normalization, and QC.
  • Provide oversight of external data partners along with associated data reconciliation processes.

Required Qualification & Skills:

  • Bachelor s degree.
  • Minimum 10 years progressive relevant work experience in a quantitative business environment.
  • Minimum 5 years experience working in a pharmaceutical company
  • Proficient programming experience using SQL and Python.
  • Advanced proficiency with Power BI for creating interactive and insightful dashboards.
  • Ability to perform and manage ad-hoc reporting requests to address immediate business needs
  • Ability to manage large data sets and to use quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Demonstrated traits for transparency, accountability, proactivity, and commitment
  • Strong ability to solve problems, proactively
  • Experience effectively communicating and presenting data to a variety of audiences.

  • High proficiency with typical pharmaceutical data sets and metrics on national, HCP and patient levels
  • Experience in developing/using/supporting sales incentive compensation, territory alignment, and HCP targeting technique
