Description
Our client supports local companies with small or no IT groups by providing support for their desktop maintenance and deployment/upgrade projects and systems monitoring. Projects include (but aren't limited to) removal of the old hardware, installation of the new hardware and could involve the installation of new peripherals (printers, monitors etc.). This role will sit onsite in Asheville at their main office. They are needing this person to be an excellent communicator and troubleshooter.
Customer Job Description:
The IT Hardware Technician is responsible for handling first-level support of service requests. This relates to all technology, including workstations, printers, networks, and vendor-specific hardware and software.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Deploy systems using ImmyBot, Microsoft Intune, and related tools
Configure, test, and diagnose hardware and software for clients
Set up user accounts, email, and permissions
Record system configurations and deployment steps accurately
Maintain and review system documentation via ticketing system
Communicate incident and request status, changes, and outages to customers
Work with team members to ensure timely service
Update clients and stakeholders on job progress and technical details
Log tasks and time entries in the ticketing system
Follow best practices to keep systems and documentation current
Provide IT support for Microsoft business applications and operating systems
Deliver basic to intermediate network and remote access support (VPN, Terminal Services, Citrix)
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure service quality and client satisfaction through attention to detail.
Escalate advanced technical issues beyond role scope.
Keep bench and storage organized and secure.
Support inventory, labeling, and asset tracking for deployed systems.
Join team meetings, training, and process improvements.
Deliver fast customer request turnaround.
Collaborate and communicate well with team members.
Coordinate with Service Delivery Manager for proper request routing.
Escalate service requests needing higher-level support.
Log time and expenses promptly in the ticketing system.
Complete ticketing system training and consistently follow processes.
Record all work as service tickets.
Attend regular team meetings.
