Job Description:
  • Applies systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. Responsibility for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288:

    Technical Process Area - Stakeholder Requirements Definition, Requirements Analysis, Architectural Design, Implementation, Integration, Verification, Transition, Validation, Operation, Maintenance, and Disposal.
    Project Process Area - Project Planning, Project Assessment and Control, Decision Management, Risk Management, Configuration Management, Information Management, and Measurement.
    Enterprise (Organizational Project-Enabling) Process Area - Project Portfolio Management, Infrastructure Management, Lifecycle Model Management, Human Resource Management, and Quality Management.
    Agreement Process Area - Acquisition and Supply.
    Physical Integration & Logistics (PI&L).
    Detail-oriented HPC Generalist with the ability to coordinate different components and schedules.
    Ensures different components from across the program are integrated, compute cabinets to front ends front ends to facilities (power/water/networks).

The HPC Generalist/System Engineer 6 shall possess the following capabilities:
  • Meeting Facilitation - coordinates different delivery schedules and understands where we are at each, documents the minutes and takes/monitors actions as they arrive.
  • Schedule Coordination-Understands the order of events (what needs to happen when) and coordinates the activities, schedules travel of several different vendors along with USG activities.
  • Shipment Coordination-Coordinates and monitors several shipments from "1 each" items (power cords, fiber optics, etc.) to major shipments (vendor deliveries of several racks that must be coordinated with site).
  • Inventory Control-Helps to develop inventory, barcoding and storage strategies for program and spare parts.
  • Sustainment Planning-While not in the direct scope of the position, there is some sustainment coordination helping with the workflows and processes for logistics and storage.
  • Security Management-Working with Mission Security Officers (MSOs) to develop a comprehensive security posture for the program to include, but not limited to:
  • o Personnel Security
    o Facility Security (both USG and Government)
    o Supply Chain Management Security
    o Vendor Security
    o Information Security
    o Transportation/Shipping Security

Qualifications:
  • A High School Diploma or GED plus twenty-four (24) years of general system engineering experience.
    OR
  • A Bachelor's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus twenty (20) years of systems engineering experience.
    OR
  • A Master's degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eighteen (18) years of systems engineering experience.
    OR
  • A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eighteen (18) years of systems engineering experience.

Position requires active Security Clearance with appropriate Polygraph
