Job Title: Kafka Consulting Engineer/Architect

Location: Richardson, TX ( Remote )

Duration: 12+ months

Job Details:

We are seeking a seasoned Confluent Kafka Consulting Engineer/Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, distributed event streaming solutions. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in the Event Streaming domain and adjacent technologies, with a strong ability to architect complex systems and mentor teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and design distributed systems with integrated Confluent Kafka components.
  • Lead customer engagements across the Data In Motion Blueprint (DIMB), aligning Professional Services impact across each layer.
  • Assess and optimize customer Confluent environments against best practices.
  • Apply advanced concepts such as Data Mesh and Central Nervous System in solution design.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Kafka and 2 3 adjacent technologies (Cloud, Security, Data Ecosystems).
  • Ensure alignment with Technical Well-Architected Pillars.
  • Mentor and support junior architects and engineers.
  • Take ownership of project challenges and drive them to resolution.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven expertise in Event Streaming architectures and Kafka ecosystem.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and integration patterns.
  • Experience with Confluent Use Cases and platform optimization.
  • Hands-on knowledge of adjacent technologies: Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform), data security, and data platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical conversations and influence architecture decisions.
  • Track record of mentoring and team leadership.
