Location: Monrovia, CA (Hybrid)

Duration: 6+ months contract

About the Role

We re seeking a highly experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to lead the design, automation, and optimization of our Azure-based cloud environments. You ll play a critical role in shaping infrastructure strategy, building scalable systems, and mentoring teams on best practices in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD, and cloud governance.

Responsibilities

- Architect, implement, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure on Microsoft Azure

- Develop and manage Terraform modules for consistent resource provisioning

- Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments

- Automate cloud operations using scripting and configuration tools (Python, Go, Bash, etc.)

- Collaborate with development teams to intake and review infrastructure requests, including architecture diagrams and compliance requirements

- Enforce tagging, naming, and policy standards across environments

- Monitor performance, cost, and security posture of cloud resources

- Lead incident response and root cause analysis for infrastructure-related issues

- Document infrastructure patterns, standards, and operational procedures

- Stay current with Azure innovations and recommend improvements to architecture and tooling

Requirements

- 10+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with a strong focus on Azure

- Expert-level proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles

- Deep understanding of CI/CD tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)

- Strong automation skills using Python or Go (preferred), or other scripting languages

- Experience with cloud governance, policy enforcement, and cost optimization

- Familiarity with container orchestration (e.g., AKS, Kubernetes) is a plus

- Excellent communication and documentation skills

- Ability to work cross-functionally with development, security, and operations teams

- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Qualifications

- Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-305) optional

- Experience with GitOps workflows and service catalog integrations , Github Actions

- Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana)

- Exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments
