RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Greenwood Village, CO that is seeking a DevOps Engineer with deep expertise in AWS cloud services to support the design, deployment, and optimization of scalable infrastructure. This role is responsible for infrastructure as code, performance management, observability, and CI/CD automation. Ideal candidates will have strong experience with Terraform or CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Kubernetes (EKS or ECS), and observability platforms like Splunk or Datadog.
Responsibilities:
* Design, deploy, and maintain AWS infrastructure stacks using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK
* Manage and optimize application performance, availability, and scalability across containerized environments
* Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable fast and secure delivery of application updates
* Implement robust monitoring and observability solutions using Datadog, Splunk, CloudWatch, or similar tools
* Automate and streamline operational processes to support infrastructure agility and repeatability
* Manage and orchestrate containerized workloads using Kubernetes, ECS, and related tooling
* Collaborate with developers and other infrastructure teams to troubleshoot deployment and runtime issues
* Ensure infrastructure security and compliance in line with organizational policies
REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Cloud Engineering roles
* Strong hands-on experience with AWS core services (EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.)
* Expertise with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK
* Solid experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, CodePipeline, Jenkins, etc.)
* Familiarity with observability tools such as Splunk, Datadog, Prometheus, or CloudWatch
* Experience managing containerized environments with Kubernetes and/or AWS ECS
* Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or TypeScript (especially for CDK)
* Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently in cloud-native environments
Preferred Skills:
* AWS certifications (e.g., AWS DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect)
* Experience with service mesh (e.g., Istio) or API gateways
* Familiarity with secrets management tools like AWS Secrets Manager, Vault, or SSM Parameter Store
* Knowledge of cost optimization strategies within AWS environments
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
