Field Engineer - Applied Chemistry Solutions

Job Summary


We are seeking a Field Engineer with a strong background in applied chemistry and process support to join our team. This role combines hands-on laboratory work with on-site field responsibilities, supporting customers across multiple industries. The ideal candidate will have experience in testing and optimizing chemical applications in real-world environments, along with the ability to translate lab results into actionable field recommendations.


Key Responsibilities


Perform laboratory and field testing using established methods and best practices.


Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical equipment relevant to water treatment, process chemistry, and specialty chemical applications.


Collect, analyze, and interpret data from lab and field trials, delivering clear reports and recommendations.


Support the deployment and optimization of chemical solutions at customer sites.


Follow technical guidance from subject matter experts while also providing field-level feedback to improve processes.


Ensure all work complies with environmental, safety, and quality standards.


Maintain detailed records of testing procedures, results, and site observations.


Travel to customer locations (up to ~40%) for on-site testing, product support, and sample collection.


Required Qualifications


Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical field.


2-7 years of hands-on experience in laboratory and/or field environments involving chemical testing, process support, or applied chemistry.


Proficiency with analytical methods, data collection, and interpretation.


Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with customers and internal teams.


Flexibility to travel for field assignments.


Preferred Qualifications


Background in water treatment, process chemistry, or specialty chemical applications.


Experience with testing in areas such as:


Water clarification and produced water treatment


Biocide performance and microbial control


Formulation or process optimization testing


Pilot or field trial implementation


Familiarity with industry regulations, environmental standards, and safe chemical handling practices.


Comfort working at the intersection of lab analysis and real-world field application.
