Network Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a well-known client in the retail space in Springfield, MA that is looking for a Network Engineer to help on a Backup and Storage Optimization Project. This individual will play a key role in evaluating, automating, and improving the client's existing backup and recovery processes leveraging Veeam Backup & Replication and ExaGrid storage platforms. This is a hybrid role that will require the consultant to be onsite 3X per week in Springfield, MA. We are not considering fully remote candidates for this position, at this time.

Responsibilities:
* Conduct a full assessment of the current server backup and storage environment
* Design and implement strategies to automate backup validation and reporting using Veeam and ExaGrid
* Partner with Database Administrators (DBAs) to resolve ongoing SQL backup and recovery issues
* Develop and document best practices for backup verification, monitoring, and alerting
* Provide recommendations for improving backup efficiency, reliability, and disaster recovery readiness
* Collaborate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure compliance and data protection standards are met

Additional Details:
* Hybrid role: 3 days onsite per week in Springfield, MA
* Initial 6-month contract with potential for extension or full-time conversion based on performance and project scope

REQUIREMENTS:
* 5+ years of experience in server backup and recovery administration
* Hands-on expertise with Veeam Backup & Replication
* Strong understanding of Windows Server, VMware, and SQL Server backup processes
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally with infrastructure and database teams
* Strong documentation and communication abilities
* Experience with ExaGrid storage systems preferred
* Experience automating backup validation and reporting preferred

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
