Job Details

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Support and administer a complex Mainframe z/OS environment

  • Perform z/OS upgrades, maintenance, and system software installations using SMPE

  • Manage LPARs and MIPS, including configuration and remote administration

  • Handle mainframe backup and restore operations (tape-based)

  • Support mainframe datacenter migrations and infrastructure design

  • Perform capacity planning and performance management

  • Troubleshoot incidents and service requests related to z/OS technologies

  • Work closely with vendor partners to manage and improve SLAs, reporting, and operational procedures

  • Participate in system audits, IVP jobs, and post-upgrade validations

Required Skills

  • z/OS system programming and administration

  • Mainframe migrations and datacenter design

  • LPAR and MIPS management

  • SMPE install, maintenance, and upgrades

  • Mainframe backup and restore (tape)

  • Capacity and performance management

  • z/OS PARMLIB configuration (PROGxx, BPXPRMxx, etc.)

  • Troubleshooting system and upgrade-related issues

  • Vendor coordination and SLA management
