We have partnered with our client in their search for a Solution Architect.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solution Architect to play a critical role in our strategic growth initiatives. This individual will be instrumental in evaluating potential acquisitions from a technology perspective, with a particular emphasis on data migration capabilities to modern cloud platforms like Databricks and Snowflake. Beyond due diligence, this role offers the exciting potential to shape the future technology landscape of newly acquired companies, driving scalability and innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Acquisition Due Diligence:
- Lead technical due diligence efforts for potential acquisitions, thoroughly assessing the target company's existing technology infrastructure, data landscape, and migration capabilities.
- Evaluate the architecture, scalability, security, and overall health of on-premise data solutions.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities associated with integrating the target company's technology with our existing and future state architectures.
- Assess the feasibility and effort required to migrate data from on-premise systems to Databricks or Snowflake.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and business development, to provide comprehensive technical insights for acquisition decisions.
- Data Migration Expertise:
- Serve as the subject matter expert in data migration strategies, tools, and best practices, specifically focused on transitioning from on-premise environments to Databricks and Snowflake.
- Develop and document comprehensive data migration plans, including data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, data quality frameworks, and testing strategies.
- Provide guidance and support to technical teams in the execution of data migration projects.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements and best practices in data warehousing, data lakes, and cloud-based data platforms.
- Product Exploration & Integration:
- Participate in the exploration and evaluation of potential product synergies and integration opportunities with prospective acquisitions.
- Contribute to the strategic vision for integrating acquired technologies into our existing portfolio.
- Post-Acquisition Technology Scaling (Potential Evolution):
- Following successful acquisitions, this role may evolve to focus on scaling the technology capabilities and offerings of the newly acquired company.
- Design and implement scalable and robust cloud-based architectures leveraging Databricks, Snowflake, and related technologies.
- Provide architectural guidance and leadership to engineering teams within the acquired company.
- Drive innovation and the adoption of modern data and analytics practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in1 solution architecture, with a significant focus on data warehousing, data lakes, and data migration.
- Demonstrated expertise in migrating data from various on-premise data solutions (e.g., traditional data warehouses, relational databases, legacy systems) to Databricks and/or Snowflake.
- Deep understanding of data modeling principles, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance frameworks.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and their data-related services.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex technical environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience in conducting technical due diligence for mergers and acquisitions is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with various programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, Scala) and data engineering tools is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
