Location: Marlborough, MA
Salary: $65.00 USD Hourly - $80.00 USD Hourly
Description: As an Electrical Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and testing electrical devices and equipment. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the manufacturing process, ensuring compliance with specifications and codes, and collaborating with project managers to deliver successful projects. Additionally, you'll analyze customer needs, develop system plans, and evaluate and recommend design modifications.

This job will have the following responsibilities:
Required Skills:

Power Conversion and Distribution Technology:
  • Experience with designing and implementing power conversion and distribution systems for space-bound applications.
  • Knowledge of power electronics, voltage regulation, and energy storage.
Systems Interconnect and Integration Design:
  • Proficiency in specifying system grounding requirements and ensuring signal integrity.
  • Ability to design and integrate complex systems, considering interconnections between subsystems.
Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Requirements:
  • Familiarity with EMC standards (e.g., MIL-STD-461) and experience developing design requirements at both the board and system levels.
  • Expertise in mitigating electromagnetic interference (EMI) and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Circuit Analysis Tools:
  • Proficiency in using circuit analysis tools such as SPICE/PSPICE for modeling and simulating electronic circuits.
  • Ability to analyze circuit performance, stability, and transient behavior.
Laboratory Instrumentation:
  • Familiarity with various laboratory instruments, including oscilloscopes, function generators, meters, spectrum analyzers, and frequency counters.
  • Practical experience in using these instruments for testing and troubleshooting.
Preferred Skills:

Embedded Systems Development:
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, including programming in C and/or assembly language for hard real-time single-board computer applications.
  • Experience with microcontrollers, firmware development, and real-time operating systems.
Electronic Circuitry Implementation:
  • Proficiency in designing and entering schematics using tools like Mentor Graphics.
  • Knowledge of PCB layout, component selection, and debugging techniques.
Optoelectronic Circuitry:
  • Understanding of optoelectronic components, including low-noise quadrant detector transimpedance amplifiers and laser diode pulse power drive circuitry (30W or greater).
  • Ability to optimize optoelectronic system performance.
Test Planning and Execution:
  • Experience in planning and conducting tests for electronic components, subsystems, and complete systems.
  • Knowledge of test methodologies, data analysis, and reporting.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in electronic systems hardware development.
  • Familiarity with space-bound systems is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and project management abilities.
