Job Details

Role: Global Trade Management Specialist Location: San Jose, CA (Onsite role)

Global Trade Management (GTM) Specialist/Consultant will be responsible for leveraging the Amber Road/E2open GTM platform to ensure compliant, efficient, and cost-effective international trade operations. This role involves working with various stakeholders to analyze business requirements, configure the GTM system, integrate it with other enterprise systems, and provide ongoing support and optimization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of global trade regulations and practical experience with GTM software.

Key Responsibilities:
System Implementation & Configuration:
Participate in the design, configuration, and implementation of Amber Road/E2open GTM modules (e.g., Trade Compliance, Customs Management, Export Controls, Restricted Party Screening, Free Trade Agreements, Logistics).
Translate complex business requirements into functional and technical specifications for system configuration and development.
Collaborate with IT, supply chain, logistics, legal, finance, and other business units to ensure seamless integration of GTM processes.
Trade Compliance & Regulations:
Ensure adherence to international trade regulations, including export controls (e.g., EAR, ITAR), import regulations, customs laws, sanctions (e.g., OFAC), and preferential trade agreements.
Perform commodity classification (HTS, ECCN) and country of origin determinations.
Manage export license applications, usage, and reporting requirements (e.g., BIS, DDTC).
Monitor and interpret changes in global trade regulations and assess their impact on company operations.
Process Optimization & Support:
Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within global trade operations using the GTM system.
Develop and deliver training to end-users on GTM system functionalities and trade compliance processes.
Provide ongoing system support, troubleshoot issues, and resolve user inquiries related to the GTM platform.
Support internal and external audits related to trade compliance.
Data Management & Reporting:
Ensure appropriate maintenance of trade-related master data (e.g., product classification, partner data).
Generate reports and analytics on trade compliance metrics, shipment visibility, and cost optimization.
Collaboration & Project Management:
Work closely with project managers, technical teams, and business stakeholders to meet project deadlines and objectives.
Participate in testing activities (unit, integration, user acceptance testing) to ensure solution quality.
Maintain documentation of GTM processes, configurations, and user guides.
