The Boeing Space & Launch Division's Global Satellite Configuration and Control Equipment (GSCCE) program is looking for Lead Systems Engineers in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The Boeing Space, Intelligence & Weapon Systems (SI&WS) Division's GSCCE program is seeking motivated, goal-achieving, and team-oriented systems engineers to update, upgrade, and develop an updated and modernized global military satellite communications (MILSATCOM) ground system that will manage the WGS Payloads for all F1-F12 satellites - for the Boeing-built Wideband Global SATCOM (WGS) satellites.
As a member of the GSCCE team, you will be involved in the entire product development lifecycle, from conceptualization and development to the maintenance and support of the delivered system for our customers. The successful candidate will work closely with Systems Engineering aligning the software product testing and verification approach to ensure quality, reliability, and functionality. Advises on the set up and configuration of test environments, including hardware, software, and network configurations to replicate production environments. Leads executing test cases and scenarios to verify functionality, performance, and safety of software systems, identifying and reporting defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities found during testing processes. Leads developing and maintaining automated test scripts
Position Responsibilities:
Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions for Communications Satellites Command and Control architectures, platform development, and network infrastructure.
Evaluates customer and operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
Conducts technology trade studies, identifies evaluation criterions, and cost/technology feasibility analysis.
Performs various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
Performs analyses for mission performance, affordability, reliability, maintainability, testability, systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, and, product assurance.
Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.
Resolves cross-functional technical issues.
Required Skills:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry. and typically, 9 or more years' related work experience
Knowledge of Model-based Systems Engineering, process and tools
5+ years of related work experience OR 3+ years of related work experience with a Master's degree
Jira and Confluence tool experience
Experience in design for systems of systems communication architectures
Preferred Skills:
Basic Satellite Mission operations experience
Requirements management including definition, allocation, and decomposition of requirements
Knowledge of DOORS and DOORS requirements management
Knowledge of satellite telemetry and command & control architectures
Knowledge of satellite ground stations and satellite ground control software
