Position Description
We are seeking a Validation Engineer with strong expertise in system-level validation of notebook PC platforms. In this role, you will execute manual and automated test cases across ASIC hardware, firmware, BIOS, drivers, operating systems, and applications. You will also configure and maintain test hardware and infrastructure, analyze test data, and collaborate with cross-functional global teams to ensure high-quality system performance.
This is a hands-on lab role that requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute manual and automated test cases to validate notebook PC platforms (hardware, BIOS, firmware, OS, applications).
- Configure, install, and maintain test systems including CPAPUs, memory, drives, network cards, and other components.
- Review and improve test plans, procedures, and test coverage.
- Analyze, interpret, and present test data in meaningful formats (tables, charts, reports).
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues in the lab environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and multicultural engineering teams.
- Safely handle electronic equipment and support lab activities, including moving and setting up systems.
Required Skills/Education
- 5+ years of experience in Windows OS notebook PC platform post-silicon validation.
- Strong knowledge of OS, BIOS, and hardware setup/configuration.
- System-level expertise in subsystems such as memory, PCIe, USB, SATA, Ethernet, processors, and chipsets.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub, Virtual Machines, and deployment for wider usage.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Perl, and .NET/C#.
- Ability to work with both Windows and Linux OS environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting, regression analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills able to clearly document results and provide feedback.
- Ability to follow technical instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Quick learner with demonstrated interest in learning new tools and technologies.
- Scripting knowledge (Bash, Ruby, Python) is a plus.
