York Space Systems was founded to radically improve spacecraft
affordability and reliability, transforming, and enabling next generation space mission operations worldwide. Today, it is one of the most innovative aerospace companies, specializing in both end-to-end customer solutions and the rapid production of spacecraft platforms.
York's complete Space Segment Solution including spacecraft production, payload integration, system integration & test, launch services, ground segment services, and mission operations enables customers to leverage York's existing technology solutions to get rapidly and responsively to orbit. We're looking to expand our team across the board.
We are seeking an Electrical Power Systems Engineer who takes full ownership of the spacecraft power subsystem-from design through on-orbit operations-and thrives in hands-on problem-solving on the production floor. The ideal candidate is a rigorous systems thinker and technical leader who proactively identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves electrical power system issues across the full lifecycle of spacecraft development and operations. You'll be embedded in a fast-paced environment, working side-by-side with hardware, systems, and production engineers to build and test flight hardware. You must be capable of quickly diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues in real-time and driving solutions across disciplines to keep production and test timelines on track.

Responsibilities:
- Own the electrical power subsystem for one or more spacecraft missions, from system definition through assembly, test, and operations
- Act as the go-to expert for electrical power system anomalies-drive root cause analysis and resolution on the production floor, in test environments, and during flight operations
- Collaborate closely with manufacturing, integration & test (I&T), and systems engineering teams to ensure smooth handoffs and design-to-production fidelity
- Develop and manage subsystem requirements, test plans, procedures, and documentation
- Interface with supply chain and procurement to ensure delivery of quality components aligned with schedule needs
- Represent the EPS team in internal and external design reviews, customer meetings, and risk discussions
- Proactively improve team processes, tools, and test methodologies to streamline design, validation, and troubleshooting

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics or equivalent degree or experience
- Experience with electrical circuit or system design
- Able to communicate technical issues and drive resolutions across engineering and production teams
- Comfortable performing root cause investigations using lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power supplies, etc.)
- Must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance
Desired Technical Specialties
- Understanding of space environment: Radiation, surface charging, thermal, outgassing, etc.
- Understanding of all spacecraft subsystems
- Understanding of spacecraft design and operational life cycle
- Understanding of different spacecraft power system architectures
- Understanding of fundamental principles of power regulation design at the circuit level
- Knowledge of spacecraft grounding best practice
- Experience with electronic testing equipment, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs, etc.
