Role: SAP Solution Expert Plan to Produce (Production Planning)

Overview

We are seeking a Plan to Produce (Pl2Pr) Production & Planning Consultant to lead the design, configuration, and deployment of S/4HANA Production Planning and Execution processes for the Aerospace & Defense (A&D) industry. The role requires deep expertise in discrete manufacturing, supply chain management, and industry best practices for complex, high-precision production environments.

Key Focus Areas Planning

  • Aircraft program demand planning & forecasting, including option/model and variant planning.

  • Long-term demand planning aligned with aircraft delivery schedules.

  • MRP & Predictive MRP for multi-level, multi-operation environments.

  • Engineering change management, including Engineering Change Workbench and Parameter Effectivity impacts on production.

  • Planning using Grouping/Pegging/Distribution methods.

  • Integration with PLM and MES systems (e.g., Teamcenter, Solumina).

  • Experience in Project System and MTO/ATO scenarios.

  • Planning & production using Complex Assembly processing.

  • MRP for procurement of long lead-time components, including planning with Networks and forecast consumption.

  • Master Production Scheduling and S/4 Capacity Planning.

Production

  • Configure production processes for ETO/ATO, MTO, MTS, and Project/Network-based Manufacturing.

  • Integrate production with downstream MES systems, configuring changes to enable MES readiness.

  • Product costing, capacity planning, and availability checks.

  • Manage subcontracting from production orders.

  • Aerospace-specific production scenarios, including MRO/Spares support.

  • Scrap, remanent, and co-production handling.

General Skills

  • Solid foundation across SAP functional areas (PP, MM, SD, QM, WM) to ensure seamless supply chain integration.

  • Expertise in master data governance, analytics, and reporting for supply chain visibility.

  • Full lifecycle Pl2Pr implementations using SAP Best Practices and Activate methodology (blueprinting design configuration testing go-live).

  • Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA and integration with PP/DS.

  • Ability to understand technical integration requirements and produce detailed functional specifications.

  • Collaborate with SAP partners and integration consultants to align business requirements.

  • Cross-functional expertise in at least one other Pl2Pr area (QM, PEO, EHS, PPDS, eSPP) is highly desirable.

Other Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional consulting or equivalent business process experience.

  • 5+ years of hands-on configuration experience in relevant SAP components.

  • 3+ full lifecycle S/4HANA (v2019 or later) implementations.

  • Successful rollout & localization of a global SAP template.

  • Excellent facilitation, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Willingness to travel to client locations as required.
