Position: Project Chief Body Closures # JP00312537
Location: Auburn Hills, MI (100% Onsite Only local candidates or those willing to relocate will be considered)
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership:
Lead full lifecycle of closure projects from concept to production ensuring schedule, budget, and quality targets are met.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and other teams to ensure successful launches.
Design Oversight:
Guide the design and development process to ensure compliance with OEM standards and industry regulations.
Supplier Management:
Select and manage suppliers, ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery.
Risk & Compliance:
Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Process Optimization:
Drive continuous improvement in product design and production efficiency.
Change Management:
Lead engineering teams in implementing process improvements and design changes.
Customer Focus:
Validate designs through benchmarking, engineering validation, and customer feedback.
Reporting:
Maintain project documentation and report status, risks, and milestones to senior leadership.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
- 8+ years of automotive engineering experience.
- Expertise in body closure systems (doors, hoods, tailgates, etc.).
- Strong understanding of lightweight materials, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques.
- Experience resolving complex technical issues with focus on cost, quality, and timelines.
- Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA, Siemens NX), PLM systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
