Data Security Analyst

Description

Seeking a passionate and proactive Security Champion serve as a bridge between the security and development teams. This role is ideal for someone with a strong development background who is enthusiastic about embedding security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and enabling teams to build secure applications from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

Security Enablement

• Act as a security advocate within development teams, promoting secure coding practices and awareness.
• Provide guidance and training to developers on security best practices, tools, and frameworks.
• Collaborate with security teams to translate security policies and standards into actionable guidance for engineering teams.
• Help integrate security tools and processes into CI/CD pipelines.

Application Security

• Conduct threat modeling, code reviews, and security assessments for new and existing applications.
• Identify and remediate vulnerabilities in collaboration with development teams.
• Support secure design and architecture decisions during the planning and development phases.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents related to application vulnerabilities.

Collaboration & Communication

• Serve as the primary point of contact between the security team and assigned development teams.
• Champion a culture of security through regular communication, workshops, and knowledge sharing.
• Participate in security communities of practice and contribute to internal documentation and playbooks.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in software development, DevOps, or application security.
• Solid understanding of secure coding principles and common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10).
• Experience with security tools such as SAST, DAST, SCA, and container scanning.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
• Certifications such as CSSLP, GWAPT, or OSCP.
• Experience conducting threat modeling and risk assessments.
