Infrastructure Support Engineer
6 months - Remote,
Rate: $55 - $60 on W2
Provide Level 2 support for enterprise IT infrastructure including servers, networks, storage, and virtualization platforms.
Monitor infrastructure health using tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, or similar, and respond to alerts in a timely manner.
Perform routine maintenance and patch management of Windows/Linux servers and infrastructure components.
Manage user access and identity services such as Active Directory, Group Policies, and Entra ID (Azure AD).
Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to hardware, operating systems, virtual machines, and backup systems.
Support cloud-based environments(Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform) and assist in hybrid cloud operations.
Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, or KVM.
Ensure system availability and performance, implementing proactive measures for incident avoidance.
Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with security baselines and respond to vulnerabilities.
Participate in change management processes, performing impact analysis and executing changes during approved windows.
Document standard operating procedures, known errors, and workarounds in a knowledge base.
Respond to service requests and incidents using ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, ManageEngine, or Jira ServiceDesk.
Coordinate with vendors and third parties for hardware replacements, support escalations, or warranty claims.
Assist with disaster recovery planning and regularly test DR procedures to ensure readiness.
Contribute to infrastructure improvement projects, automation, and optimization initiatives.
