Job Title: Senior Data Engineer, AI Tools (Tulsa, OK - onsite)
Location: Tulsa, OK
Onsite: Yes, hybrid
Schedule: M-F, 8-5
Type: Full-Time Employee
Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, PTO and Holidays, 401k, performance-based bonuses
We're a healthcare SaaS company serving oral and maxillofacial surgeons and dental service organizations across the country. While the company has been serving the market for over 4 decades, we've been executing an aggressive transformation: scaling our platform to support rapid customer growth while modernizing our entire data architecture.
This isn't a maintenance role. We need a Senior Data Engineer who can lead the transformation of our data systems, both internal and customer-facing, to support a high-scale SaaS platform. You'll work alongside our existing data team to architect and deliver solutions that move the business forward. We're building automated, AI-assisted data pipelines and conversion processes as well as optimizing existing data systems performance. You'll be at the center of making all of that happen.
What You'll Own
You'll lead the evolution of our data infrastructure as we migrate to a modern Cloud-native stack. This means designing and building automated ETL pipelines, optimizing database performance across multiple engines, and implementing AI-assisted tooling to accelerate delivery. You'll be hands-on with architecture decisions while guiding team members through the transformation. The work spans SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redshift, and the broader AWS ecosystem. You'll balance strategic thinking with the ability to roll up your sleeves and solve hard problems in the code.
What We're Looking For
We need someone who doesn't walk away from hard data problems. Someone who can learn on the fly, leverage AI coding tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code and Cursor for rapid iteration, and maintain strong human-in-the-loop judgment throughout. You're not just executing tickets. You're shaping how we think about data at scale. The right person sees ambiguity as opportunity. You take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks. You communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders. You're comfortable leading through influence even without formal authority, and you see AI tools as accelerators rather than threats to your craft.
Technical Requirements
Required
• Strong SQL expertise with performance tuning experience (query optimization, indexing
strategies, execution plan analysis)
• SQL Server, PostgreSQL and DynamoDB hands-on experience
• AWS data services: Glue, Athena, Redshift, S3, RDS, Lambda
• C#/.NET development skills
• Node.js/TypeScript for serverless Lambda functions
• Git-based source control and CI/CD workflows
• Experience designing and building ETL and data pipeline solutions
• Clear communication skills for conveying technical concepts to both technical and business stakeholders
Preferred
• Entity Framework performance optimization
• Healthcare software or medical industry experience
• HIPAA compliance experience
• Data migration and conversion project background
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude)
Who Thrives Here
You're a fit if you get energized by building things that don't exist yet. You want direct impact on a company's technical direction, not layers of bureaucracy between you and decisions. You're comfortable with the pace and expectations that come with a company in transformation. And you believe exceptional systems come from exceptional people working
together, not from individual heroics.
Benefits
• Competitive salary with performance-based bonus potential
• Health, dental, and vision insurance
• 401(k) with 3% company match
• Generous PTO policy and paid holidays
• Tuition reimbursement program
• Opportunity to shape the technical direction of a growing healthcare technology
company
