Delta's technology development teams work daily to ensure that Delta technology enables the best experience for our customers and our people. We want these development teams to be able to focus on delivering value to our customers, so we have formed an organization with the Delta developers as our customers. This organization focuses on building products to improve our developers' experience every day. You will own the toolchain that powers every code commit at Delta. You'll lead a small, senior squad to keep GitLab, AWS infrastructure, and Nexus artifact repositories secure, resilient, and fast, while coaching engineers and removing friction from the SDLC. This role will partner with peer level positions across the IT organization to understand the needs of their user base and evangelize adoption of their products.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Run the platforms: Oversee GitLab EE (self-hosted + SaaS Dedicated), Nexus, runners, and supporting AWS services (S3, RDS, PrivateLink).
- Standardize pipelines: Migrate teams off Jenkins/CodePipeline/Tekton onto GitLab CI templates with built-in quality and security gates.
- Raise the bar on reliability: Define SLIs/SLOs, automate failover/DR, and keep availability 99.999 %.
- Embed security & compliance: Integrate SAST/DAST, secrets scanning, and token-based auth; generate audit evidence for PCI/SOX automatically.
- Drive insights: Publish DORA and custom lead-time dashboards; use data to cut lead time by 20 %+ year over year.
- Lead by example: Mentor engineers spread across ATL, MSP & BLR, jump on bridges first, and ensure blameless post-mortems turn into permanent fixes.
- Manage vendors & budget: Coordinate with GitLab PS, Sonatype, and AWS; track a multimillion-dollar tooling budget.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, with 8+ years of relevant technical experience or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems with 2+ years of technical experience
- 10+ years in DevOps/SRE or platform engineering, 3+ years managing people.
- Hands-on expertise with GitLab EE/CI, AWS core services, and Sonatype Nexus (or Artifactory).
- Proven track record migrating on-prem toolchains to cloud/SaaS without downtime.
- Solid Terraform/CloudFormation, container orchestration (EKS/Kubernetes), and observability (PrometheGrafana or similar).
- Strong communicator able to brief leadership and debug pipelines with engineers the same afternoon.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
- Airline, travel, or other highly regulated environments.
- Experience automating solutions or process addressing developer pain points.
- Familiarity with shift-left security tools.
