Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Interim Cybersecurity Director to lead and stabilize our global cybersecurity organization during a critical transition period. This role will oversee a security team split between the U.S. and India, ensuring alignment across IAM, Governance, Compliance, and Security Operations functions. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and proven experience engaging with executive stakeholders, including Board Audit Committees.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Oversight
- Lead a globally distributed cybersecurity team (~20 people) across the U.S. and India.
- Ensure operational alignment across Identity & Access Management (IAM), Governance, Compliance, and Security Operations.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, mentorship, and performance management.
Strategic Communication
- Present regularly to the Board Audit Committee on:
- Industry-specific and emerging cybersecurity threats.
- Cybersecurity testing and assurance activities (e.g., purple teaming, penetration testing, tabletop exercises).
- Regulatory compliance posture and identified gaps (TSA, SEC, PCI, SOX).
- Progress on major cybersecurity initiatives and risk mitigation programs.
- Present regularly to the Board Audit Committee on:
Cybersecurity Program Management
- Drive execution of key cybersecurity initiatives and ensure measurable progress.
- Maintain and enhance the organization's cybersecurity posture through continuous improvement and risk-based prioritization.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks and internal policies.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with IT, Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to ensure cohesive security governance.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on cybersecurity risks and mitigation strategies.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience leading a global cybersecurity organization with a split U.S./India structure.
- Deep understanding of IAM, Governance, Compliance, and Security Operations.
- Demonstrated success presenting to Board Audit Committees on cybersecurity topics.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks including TSA, SEC, PCI, and SOX.
- Hands-on experience with cybersecurity assurance activities such as purple teaming, pen testing, and tabletop exercises.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CISSP, CISM, or similar cybersecurity certifications.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST CSF, ISO 27001, or MITRE ATT&CK.
Salary: $5,000 - $7,000 per week DOE
