Title: Scrum Master (ONLY W2)
Duration: 12 Months (Possibility of extension)
Location: Columbia, SC, 29210 (Onsite from Day 1)
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Scrum Master to facilitate and drive Agile practices across cross-functional product teams. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth operation of daily Scrum activities and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality software delivery.
As a Scrum Master, you will work closely with Product Owners, development teams, and stakeholders to remove impediments, guide Agile ceremonies, and coach team members in Agile methodologies. You will help ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and aligned with quality standards.
Daily Duties & Responsibilities:
- Facilitate core Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure adherence to Scrum/Agile frameworks and guide the team in Agile best practices.
- Identify and remove team impediments that block progress.
- Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to manage backlog priorities and project timelines.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess team performance and delivery.
- Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives, coaching, and regular feedback.
- Communicate risks, issues, and progress transparently to leadership and stakeholders.
- Support hybrid project models that incorporate both Agile and traditional Waterfall methods when necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications (Ranked in Order of Importance):
- 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master in Agile environments
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure DevOps
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, principles, and practices
- Proven experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies and guiding Agile teams
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to integrate Agile with hybrid (Agile + Waterfall) project management approaches
- General conceptual knowledge of programming and database querying
- Prior experience with Agile project management tools
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification
- Experience working within government or public sector environments
- ERP systems experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Systems, Business)
