Role Overview
Our client is seeking a senior commercial leader to own and expand relationships with major national retail chains. The VP of National Retail Chains will drive revenue growth, profitability, and market share while leading strategic retail initiatives across top-tier accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a national retail strategy aligned with company growth objectives
- Manage executive-level relationships with major national retailers (Walmart, Target, Costco, Best Buy, etc.) (MUST HAVE)
- Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing national accounts team
- Drive revenue through negotiations, promotions, assortment strategy, and execution
- Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Product teams
- Oversee forecasting, analytics, and performance tracking to identify growth opportunities
- Stay ahead of retail trends, consumer insights, and competitive dynamics
Mandatory Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in retail sales / national accounts
- Direct experience working in Food Manufacturing (MANDATORY)
- Proven success managing large national retail chains with significant revenue ownership
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Data-driven, strategic mindset with the ability to operate in fast-paced environments
Education
- Bachelor s degree required (MBA preferred)
