Guidehouse is searching for a Communications Analyst to work within a busy and growing cross-functional team supporting our work at the NIH. The position will be based in Rockville, Maryland. The Communications Analyst will be a content writer and contribute to outreach campaigns for internal and external audiences, including researchers. This position will support the team's busy and growing scientific and software engineering sections. The work environment is highly collaborative and team-based.

What You Will Do :
  • Elevate written and digital communication strategies for both internal and external communication products and services
  • Provide communications expertise and support for all Branch activities including, but not limited to: websites, FAQs, presentation materials, leadership talking points, scientific manuscripts, and other communication vehicles. This may include technical writing and editing such as software user guides and scientific publications.
  • Develop and implement a social media calendar and create posts with strong visuals and message
  • Evaluate metrics of communication initiatives to improve writing and messaging strategies
  • Develop relationships quickly, strategically, and effectively across NIAID, focusing on researchers and collaborators
  • Facilitate and manage grassroots efforts to engage with researchers and collaborators across the Institute


What You Will Need :
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Minimum of Four (4) years of professional experience in one of the following fields: scientific or health communications, marketing, or outreach
  • Demonstrated experience applying strategic communications principles and best practices
  • Ability to understand and tailor messaging to a variety of audiences and channels
  • Understanding of and experience using social media platforms in a professional setting (Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube)
  • Ability to effectively present scientific/technical topics in a business-oriented fashion to non-technical audiences
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and pay close attention to detail
  • Well organized with demonstrated multi-tasking skills
  • Experience creating 508 compliant documents
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications . Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications preferred.


What Would Be Nice To Have :
  • A Masters degree in communications is preferred.


The annual salary range for this position is $87,100.00-$130,700.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
