Job Title: IT Software Development Technician
Location: Memphis, TN (Remote)
Duration: 12 months (Contract to Hire)

Position Overview

We are seeking an IT Software Development Technician to support the design, analysis, and development of software solutions for various strategic and tactical initiatives. The ideal candidate will assist in defining business requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and developing or modifying software programs to meet organizational objectives.

This is a contract-to-hire position open to remote candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business and system requirements to design and develop simple to moderately complex software programs.
• Collaborate with developers, QA analysts, and management to review requirements, workflows, and desired functionality.
• Perform development tasks to ensure software accuracy, performance, and timely delivery.
• Develop and test software using Informatica, PL/SQL, Progress 4GL, Microsoft .NET, or similar technologies.
• Assist with data modeling, process flow design, and creation of derived fields or formatted outputs.
• Document all development activities to ensure a clear record of program changes and enhancements.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Ensure adherence to departmental development standards and best practices.
• Provide input for process improvement and optimization within the IT team.
• Collaborate with project managers to achieve milestones on schedule.

Qualifications

Education & Licensing

• Bachelor s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
• Coursework or experience in software development, systems analysis, or business applications design preferred.

Experience

• 4+ years of related IT/software development experience or equivalent education.
• 3+ years working within the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• 1+ year hands-on experience with a software development platform (e.g., Oracle, PL/SQL, .NET, Open Source, C#, C++, Korn Shell Script, Perl, or Progress 4GL).

Technical Skills & Tools

• Proficient in PL/SQL, Oracle Databases, and at least one programming language (e.g., C#/C++/C, .NET, Perl, or Progress 4GL).
• Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite and related productivity tools.
