RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Juno Beach, FL that is seeking a Principal Software Engineer. This role will be instrumental in architecting and delivering quantitative analytics and market risk data solutions using cutting-edge platforms including Beacon, CubeLogic, and Dataiku.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design, development, and implementation of trading risk management systems with emphasis on data governance frameworks and best practices
* Architect and build proof-of-concept solutions for quantitative analytics and market risk data processing
* Develop and integrate solutions using Beacon, CubeLogic, and Dataiku platforms to support trading operations and risk analytics
* Collaborate with trading, risk management, and quantitative analytics teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
* Design and implement robust data pipelines, ETL processes, and data quality frameworks to ensure accuracy and reliability of risk data
* Establish data governance standards, policies, and procedures for trading risk management systems
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development team members
* Drive innovation through evaluation and implementation of emerging technologies and methodologies
* Ensure solutions meet regulatory compliance requirements and industry best practices
* Partner with stakeholders across the organization to deliver scalable, high-performance systems
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
* 8+ years of software development experience with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role
* Strong programming skills in Java, Python, or similar languages
* Experience with trading systems, risk management platforms, or financial data systems
* Proven track record of architecting and delivering enterprise-level applications
* Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality frameworks, and master data management
* Experience with modern data platforms and tools (Dataiku experience highly preferred)
* Proficiency in SQL and database technologies (both relational and NoSQL)
* Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Excellent communication skills with ability to engage both technical and business audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
* Hands-on experience with Beacon and/or CubeLogic platforms
* Background in quantitative analytics, market risk, or trading operations
* Knowledge of energy trading markets and commodities
* Experience with machine learning and advanced analytics platforms
* Familiarity with risk metrics (VaR, Greeks, scenario analysis)
* Understanding of regulatory requirements (ETRM, CFTC, FERC)
* Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
* Strong architectural design skills with microservices and API development
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
