Job Description:
- The Payroll Analyst Workday will lead and advise on a full-cycle payroll frequency transition project, moving from semi-monthly to bi-weekly payroll.
- This role requires deep expertise in Workday Payroll configuration, testing, and deployment, ensuring a seamless transition for employees and full compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
- The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally across Payroll, HRIS, Time & Absence, Compensation, and Benefits teams to assess current processes, design the future-state configuration, and execute a smooth payroll cutover.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end transition from semi-monthly to bi-weekly payroll within Workday.
- Conduct current-state assessment and develop a future-state roadmap covering configuration, testing, validation, and deployment.
- Partner with Payroll, HRIS, Time & Absence, Compensation, and Benefits teams to ensure all downstream impacts are identified and managed.
- Guide configuration and testing of Workday Payroll elements, including earnings, deductions, retro pay, off-cycle payments, and costing allocations.
- Manage and execute parallel testing, reconciliation, and cutover readiness activities.
- Oversee realignment of time tracking and absence plans to new payroll periods, ensuring accurate accruals and overtime calculations.
- Identify and coordinate necessary updates to integrations with benefit carriers, payroll tax vendors, and financial systems.
- Collaborate with HR and Finance partners to ensure data accuracy, effective change communication, and compliance readiness.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive transition documentation, updated process maps, and training materials.
- Provide post-go-live support, issue resolution, and stabilization assistance.
Experience:
- 5 10 years of progressive experience in Workday Payroll, with hands-on configuration and operational support.
- Proven success leading at least one end-to-end payroll frequency transition project (semi-monthly to bi-weekly or similar).
- Strong understanding of Workday Payroll, Absence, and Time Tracking modules, including related integrations.
- Experience collaborating with HR, Finance, and IT teams in large, complex organizations.
- Knowledge of taxation and compliance requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated expertise in testing, reconciliation, and change management during system transitions.
