Description

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Mountain View three times per week, at minimum.

The Role:

As an integral member of the Software HR leadership team, this newly created role will have responsibility for partnering with Senior Executives in developing and executing the HR strategy for a business-critical part of the organization.

You will lead a small team of HR Business partners to shape, deliver and continuously improve HR solutions that drive business outcomes. Key to success in this position is a leader with a proven ability to lead change, collaborate across organizational boundaries and effectively drive results in a transformative, fast-paced environment.

This role will be a hybrid role based in the Bay Area, with the aligned office in the South Bay.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic guidance and expertise in organizational design, performance management, workforce planning, and change leadership to drive employee engagement and success at the individual, team, and business level.
  • Partner with leadership in defining and executing the talent strategy in alignment with GM's long-term global software business strategy
  • As a trusted advisor to an executive leadership team, provide ongoing coaching and guidance.
  • Collaborate with functional HR partners to execute processes within GM's global performance & total rewards framework, including compensation planning, performance management, talent assessment, and succession planning.
  • Act as a change agent in driving the continuous evolution of people and leadership practices that support reinventing GM's Employer Brand as a tech company: Consult with leaders and key stakeholders to understand the business and its external environment and provide guidance on change management efforts.
  • Inspire, coach and develop a team of HR Business Partners to work together as a high performing team and accelerate the performance of GM's software organization.
  • Ensure that operational excellence is delivered across all HR processes by demonstrating subject matter expertise and driving consistency in the quality levels of HR support.
  • Generate new perspectives, ideas and insights to foster a culture of innovation, risk-taking and high performance. Act as a champion in driving leadership accountability and commitment to world-class employee engagement, inclusion & enablement.
  • Leverage data analytics to analyze internal and external trends and key metrics. Share insights with business leadership to influence impactful change.
  • Prioritize, support & invest in practices that enhance the organization's diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Develop and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, clients, and functional partners
  • Operate with unwavering integrity, ensuring compliance with GM's code of conduct, policies & practices.

Additional Description

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources/related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Data-driven with the proven ability to analyze, interpret, and influence recommendations
  • Strong interpersonal skills in facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • Ability to develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with others
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Proven track record for working independently, taking initiative, and delivering results
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Highly proficient use of Microsoft Office applications and HR systems (Workday preferred)

Compensation:

  • The expected base compensation for this role is $127,900 - $200,100 USD Annually.
  • Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
  • Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
