Description
The Lead Business Architect (LBA) will lead multiple teams consisting of developers, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to convert business requirements, process flows, use cases, and supporting integration documentation into a fully functional application that meets user needs.
This role requires a PEGA Business Architect certification with a minimum of 3 years of post-certification experience.
Summary
The Pega Lead Business Architect acts as a liaison between business users, stakeholders, and technology teams. This individual works closely with the Lead System Architect and leadership to jointly define business and technical strategies.
This position offers the opportunity to utilize a wide range of skill sets while contributing to software development and systems integration initiatives for diverse user groups. The ideal candidate has a strong background in requirements gathering, tracking, and analysis, with the ability to clearly communicate concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
The primary function of this role is to evaluate user needs and develop, implement, and support technology solutions to address those needs.
Experience Requirements
- Total Relevant Experience: 9+ years
- Business Analysis Experience: Minimum 7 years
- Use Case Development: Minimum 7 years
- PEGA Business Architect Experience: Minimum 7 years, including 3 years post-certification
- Experience working in organizations that design and deliver software solutions
- Experience managing software functional requirements throughout the SDLC
- Experience working in Agile software development environments
- Experience collaborating with users and stakeholders to capture and define solution requirements
- Experience with enterprise-level software configuration and deployment
- Strong documentation experience, including requirements, test cases, and training materials
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between business and technology teams, translating requirements between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Work closely with Product Owners, stakeholders, and business analysts to gather user stories and define business requirements
- Understand business vision and translate it into effective technology solutions
- Collaborate with technology teams to design solutions that align with business needs
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks
- Perform multiple roles as needed throughout the project lifecycle
- Lead and support Agile teams, including participation in sprint planning and backlog reviews
- Capture functional software requirements and translate them into user stories
- Define solution acceptance criteria and support software testing activities
- Document functional designs and lead test execution efforts
- Publish release notes and maintain product documentation
- Develop and maintain training materials and conduct training sessions as needed
- Create wireframes to support functional requirements
- Mentor business analysts and other software development team members
- Integrate best practices into existing processes
- Support customer success initiatives as required
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- IT or technical background is a plus
Education & Certification
- PEGA Certified Business Architect (Required)
- 4-year college degree or equivalent technical education (Required)
