Senior Snowflake Data Engineer

Job Title: Sr. Snowflake Data Engineer (Contract) - Job#4996
Worksite: Houston TX (Onsite 3x/week) Tue-Thurs. You will help optimize data flow and collection across our Business Portfolio. Play an active role in our pipelines, data wrangling, and optimization of data systems builds from the ground up. Support data product owners, developers, data architects, data analysts, and data scientists on BI and Analytic initiatives. Ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. Partner with leadership team(s) to balance business needs with the best technical solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Builds infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data.
• Utilizes data sources in Cloud Integration ETL Tools, Cloud Data Warehouse, SQL, Snowflake, and AWS.
• Assists in issue resolution, job orchestration, automation, and continuous improvement of our data integration processes.
• Designs and develops ELT, ETL, Event driven, and real time data pipelines.
• Partners with Data Analysts, Data Architects, BI Architects, Data Scientists, and Data Product Owners with data transformation and integration requirements.
• Troubleshoots and tunes complex SQL.
• Utilizes On-Prem and Cloud-based ETL platforms.
• Cloud Datawarehouse, AWS, GitHub, CI/CD delivery.
• Applies various scripting languages, SQL, data quality tools, and metadata management tools.
• Develop data validation processes to ensure data quality.
• Works individually and as a part of the team in a collaborative manner.

Qualifications

A. Education and Experience

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant experience.

Five (5) years of previous experience (in addition to education requirement).

B. Preferred Experience

• 5 years of experience in Data Engineering, DW, ETL, Data Mart or Data Lake development. DBT
• Python
• Cloud Datawarehouse like Snowflake
• Cloud Integration Tools Matillion and AWS Glue
• CI/CD
• Spark SQL
• Automated Testing
