Seeking a Data & Analytics Consultant (Power BI Focus) with 1 6 years of experience to join our growing Data Analytics & AI practice. This role is ideal for someone passionate about transforming data into actionable insights using Power BI and who brings strong business acumen, technical skills, and a collaborative spirit.
Key Details:
- Hiring Levels: Consultant, Experienced Consultant, and Senior Consultant
- Engagement Type: 6-month contract-to-hire (While full-time hires are preferred, this role will begin as a contract with conversion to FTE expected in Q3 or Q4 due to internal constraints)
- Contract Rate: Open and competitive based on experience, location, and alignment
- Full-Time Salary Upon Conversion: $82,500 $140,600 base + 15% bonus, depending on level, experience, and location.
- Location Preferences: Ideal candidates are based in Chicago or New York. We are also open to candidates located in Seattle, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, or Minneapolis
- Work Environment: Hybrid Onsite 2 days/week in a downtown office
- Travel Requirements: up 20 30%, but most likely less.
- Must have: Strong experience in Power BI. If you also have done work in Tableau, this is a major plus!
What You ll Do
- Design, build, and optimize Power BI dashboards and data models to uncover trends and deliver impactful insights
- Collaborate with clients to understand reporting needs and translate them into scalable, effective BI solutions
- (Optional) Build and maintain Tableau dashboards as needed for clients with varying BI environments
- Write and optimize SQL queries for reporting, data manipulation, and performance tuning
- Perform data integration and transformation tasks using ETL tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Databricks, etc.)
- Assist in documenting business requirements, process flows, and data definitions
- Participate in Agile team ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients and mentor junior team members when appropriate
Qualifications
- 1 6 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or consulting
- Proven expertise in Power BI: data modeling, DAX, performance tuning, and dashboard design
- Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases
- Solid understanding of data visualization best practices and data storytelling
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools (e.g., Snowflake, SQL Server, etc.)
- Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure preferred)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work with both business and technical stakeholders
- Enthusiastic, collaborative, and proactive in project work and client engagement
Nice to Have
- Experience developing dashboards with Tableau
- Tableau Desktop or Server certification
- Exposure to Python for data analysis or automation
- Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members
