Job Description:

Technical Writer AI & Engineering Education | Remote

Client is building the future of AI education and we need a sharp, flexible Technical Writer to help us translate complexity into clarity.

This role sits within the Learning & Development team. You ll work closely with SMEs across technical domains (engineering, infrastructure, tools, AI) to build learning content that helps teams adopt new technologies, tools, and ways of working. Your work will primarily focus on helping technical teams learn not just documenting systems.

We re looking for someone who thrives in ambiguity, writes with impact, and can flex between deep technical material and broader learning needs. If you re equally comfortable explaining how to use a dev tool as you are building just-in-time learning resources, read on.

What You ll Do

  • Write clear, concise instructional content for engineering and technical teams
  • Translate technical subject matter (tools, systems, AI workflows) into learning materials, quickstart guides, and onboarding resources
  • Collaborate with SMEs and L&D partners to structure and deliver content that drives adoption and learning
  • Build modular content that scales decks, documentation, bite-sized learning assets, etc.
  • Help establish content standards, style guidelines, and version control workflows
  • Adapt as priorities shift contributing to cross-functional projects beyond core documentation when needed

What We re Looking For:

  • 3-5 years of experience writing instructional content for technical audiences (engineers, developers, product teams)
  • Excellent writing, structuring, and editing skills you make the complex simple
  • Ability to work independently, manage projects, and meet deadlines without hand-holding
  • Familiarity with tools like Confluence, GitHub, Markdown, and modern authoring platforms
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn new tools, new tech, new ways of working
  • Strong collaborator who can work across functions, including L&D, engineering, and AI teams

Bonus If You Bring:

  • AI literacy and experience writing about AI tools or workflows
  • Experience building internal documentation or enablement for technical teams
  • Background in instructional design, technical training, or developer experience
