Location: Government facilities at Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Alabama

Role:

The Programmer/Analyst will be a member of APV s existing on-site delivery team supporting the U.S. Air Force s Squadron Officer School (SOS). The programmer/analyst will use his/her programming skills to extract student performance information from the SOS s Learning Management System. The programmer/analyst will also lead or assist in the programming and testing of additional custom tools the customer can deploy to measure various aspects of student performance and integrate those tools into the LMS, as well as the customer s reporting requirements to higher headquarters. The programmer/analyst will apply analytical skills to develop recommendations that assist SOS leadership in ensuring student performance achieves desired learning objectives. This work will be performed in government facilities on Maxwell Air Force Base; it is not available for remote work.

Duties:

  • Works closely with APV s on-site delivery team, uniformed military personnel, government civilian employees, and other contractors.
  • Uses programming expertise to extract various data from the customer s LMS, analyzes the data, and prepares designated reports on specific student performance metrics.
  • Uses Python, SQL, and Data Analysis Expressions (DAX) to transform and present data as needed using Power BI.
  • Uses various data storage tools and designs data structures with database, SharePoint, and XLS files to maintain the Power BI dashboards and reports
  • Leads development or assists in programming custom tools to measure and differentiate student performance; integrates designated tools into the LMS to capture data generated by the tools.
  • Provides input to APVs on-site Project Lead for periodic reports in accordance with our contract.
  • Crosstrain in other work requirements to assist the APV delivery team with day-to-day activities supporting the Squadron Officer School.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor s degree in programming, software development, or a related skill; coursework in statistics or data analytics is a significant plus.

Experience Requirements:

  • Must show clear evidence of experience using programming languages (such as Python, Power BI, and SharePoint) to find and extract student information from an LMS or an extensive data set, as well as experience applying those skills to create tools for collecting data to measure student performance.
  • Comfortable working with the MS Office suite of products, especially MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be creative, innovative, solution-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Comfortable presenting results of analysis to groups or organizational leadership.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a CAC Card.
