Description

We are looking for a skilled Network Administrator to join our manufacturing team in Etna, New Jersey. In this long-term contract position, you will play a critical role in maintaining and auditing network systems to ensure they function seamlessly and comply with established documentation standards. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who excel in technical precision and are passionate about network infrastructure.

Responsibilities:
Analyze and interpret Port Schedule documentation to understand expected network configurations.
Audit network devices and record connected end-user devices for accurate documentation.
Identify and document VLAN configurations on network device interfaces.
Verify physical connections between end devices and switch ports to ensure compliance with Port Schedule standards.
Ensure proper assignments of network device interfaces in alignment with organizational requirements.
Review and validate IP addresses and subnet masks on connected end devices when necessary.
Detect and report misconfigurations or discrepancies to the Project Manager for resolution.
Collaborate with the infrastructure team to maintain accurate and reliable network documentation.
Provide technical insights for improving network audit processes and compliance measures.

Requirements

Solid understanding of networking concepts including VLANs, subnets, and switch interfaces.
Proven experience working with network documentation or port schedules.
Ability to navigate and review switch configurations, preferably with Cisco platforms.
Familiarity with LAN technologies and network switches.
Proficiency in firewall technologies and Cisco routers.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
Strong organizational skills and effective communication abilities.
Capability to identify and resolve technical discrepancies in network setups.
