This role is part of Enterprise Technology (ET), where we're developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, with an emphasis on digital capabilities required to advance Blue Origin's mission. Enterprise Technology is the center of excellence for digital technology at Blue Origin, providing oversight and governance to align technology and business strategies.

As part of our Enterprise Technology (ET) team, you'll help develop the digital infrastructure essential for building the road to space, focusing on the digital capabilities pivotal to Blue Origin's mission. Enterprise Technology serves as the center of excellence for digital technology, aligning technology with business strategies.

Join our dynamic team as a Software Development Engineer III for our Platform UI team, where you'll design, develop, and maintain modern user interfaces for a cutting-edge low-code platform. You'll leverage front-end technologies and collaborate closely with design and back-end teams to deliver performant and scalable applications. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Development and Implementation:
  • Convert UI/UX designs into functional and visually appealing user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Optimize front-end code for performance, responsiveness, and accessibility across devices and browsers.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, and debug issues as they arise.

Collaboration:
  • Work closely with designers, back-end developers, product managers, and other team members to achieve project goals.
  • Participate in design and code reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Contribute to team discussions and help implement best practices.

Continuous Learning:
  • Stay up to date with evolving front-end technologies and trends relevant to our platform.


Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Front-End Development, including deploying software in production environments. Experience with AWS, Git, Docker, or Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript, including experience with DOM manipulation and asynchronous programming.
  • Experience with popular frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js, with an understanding of component-based architecture and state management.
  • Ability to design, consume, and integrate GraphQL APIs within frontend applications.
  • Solid grasp of responsive design and developing adaptive layouts for various screen sizes.
  • Experience writing unit tests and debugging front-end issues.
  • Familiarity with back-end technologies and how front-end integrates with APIs and services.
  • Understanding of WCAG accessibility guidelines and inclusive design practices.
  • Proficient in Git for source code management.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion


Desired:
  • Experience with build tools such as Webpack or Vite.
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and data interactions.
  • Strong communication and technical problem-solving skills.


Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $148,014.00-$207,218.55

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check if at any time the role requires one to be on a military installation
  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification, Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.
