Your Role

The Quality Engineering team works with agile teams to provide fastest, most effective, and highest quality results. The DevSecOps Engineer, Senior will report to the IT Quality Engineer Manager. In this role you will design, develop, and execute automation and manual testing in Integration, Functional and Regression testing team covering QA functions across multiple applications like Facets custom & core configuration, EDI, interfaces.

Responsibilities

Your Work

In this role, you will:
  • Lead the building of test scenarios and underlying test scripts (Functional, SIT, End-to-End) based on provided requirements/design documentation and business input
  • Attend requirement sessions and evaluates requirements for testability
  • Create traceability from development hand off through testing
  • Participate in design sessions to understand implications of design to testing
  • Provide test estimates for large initiatives as requested under guidance of testing leadership
  • Identify software vulnerabilities through rigorous testing procedures
  • Develop ideas for software testing and the procedures to perform those tests
  • Review software bugs and highlight the areas that are of issue
  • Write programming codes to improve the automation process of testing software
  • Coordinate and manage testing effort between 3rd party vendors, internal IT teams, and Business Units
  • Maintain and monitor defect tracking tool (Jira), overseeing identification and problem/defect resolution
  • Evaluate production readiness of project delivery by validating and documenting the completion of testing and development
  • Support development and implementation of quality assurance standards, processes, and procedures
  • Prepare step-by-step test cases with details and execute test cases manually or using automation
  • Lead the implementation of DevSecOps practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery, continuous testing (CI-CD-CT), and automated testing, tailored for the Azure cloud environment.
  • Advocate for DevSecOps principles and practices within the organization.

Qualifications

Your Knowledge and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires at least 5 years of prior relevant experience
  • Strongly prefers working knowledge of Agile Safe methodology
  • Strongly prefers prior experience in leading Quality Engineering efforts on a strategic project or a Product team
  • Proficiency in programming languages like java and Python for developing automated test scripts
  • Experience with continuous integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Travis CI) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Strongly prefers Automation scripting experience using Selenium for Web and API
  • Well versed with Key word Driven framework and Page Object Model (POM)
  • Strongly prefers working knowledge on UNIT testing framework (Test NG and PyTest)
  • Strongly prefers working knowledge of databases and proficiency writing SQL queries
  • Strongly prefers experience with test case management tools such as Xray or similar, and set of Atlassian tools such as Jira
  • Strongly prefers working knowledge of Linux, Unix, Windows platform
  • Desired experience in Robotic Process Automation (RPA) via Pega
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Jira, GitLab CI, JFrog Artifactory, BitBucket, or Azure DevOps, with a focus on security integration and automated testing at all stages.
  • Strong knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation tasks, with an emphasis on security-related automation.
  • Desired experience in testing Facets core applications, e.g., Enrollment, Membership, Billing, and Claims
  • Desired working knowledge of 270, 271, 276, 277, 278, 820, 834, 835 and 837 EDI and X12 transactions
  • Desired working knowledge on Test Driven Development process
  • Requires good communication skills
  • Desired healthcare IT industry experience, especially in electronic health records and related systems

Pay Range

The pay range for this role is: $ 99000.00 to $ 148500.00 for California.

Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
