Job Details
OneStream & Apptio SME Data Engineering Business Manager (FP&A / TBM) with a leading U.S. private-equity fund, full-time remote (EST core hours) on W-2 or 1099.
Own the full OneStream FP&A stack: design, build, and operate driver-based budgets, rolling forecasts, and variance analytics using Extensible Dimensionality, Cube Views, Workflow, Relational Blend, and Predictive Analytics; leverage the Excel Add-In for power-user modeling and drill-through to transactional detail.
Run monthly project status / budget reporting: automate actual-vs-plan dashboards, calculate CPI/SPI, and deliver real-time portfolio KPIs to Engineering and Finance leadership.
Lead 2026 technology budget planning: translate Run-the-Firm vs. Build-the-Firm targets into bottom-up cost-center plans, perform scenario modeling, top-down target setting, and version freezes.
Administer Apptio TBM and chargeback: manage ATUM cost pools, IT towers, service catalogs, and multi-stage allocations; configure Datalink ingestion, unit-rate cards, showback/chargeback invoices, and Apptio BI dashboards to recover 100 % of infrastructure spend from portfolio companies.
Vendor contract and cost governance: track SaaS/IaaS, hardware, and consulting agreements; negotiate renewals; align payment schedules with OneStream forecasts; enforce SLA and penalty clauses.
Continuous process improvement: streamline data pipelines, tighten data-quality rules, and evangelize TBM/FP&A best practices across Engineering.
Must-have technical skills:
OneStream: Planning, Consolidation, Cube Views, Workflow, Extensible Dimensionality, Excel Add-In, Data Blend, Predictive Analytics.
Apptio: ATUM model, Cost Transparency, IT Planning, Datalink, Apptio BI, chargeback/showback configuration.
Financial Ops: technology FP&A, project cost accounting, Run vs. Build categorization, ROI and AAR analysis.
Data: SQL/ETL for financial and operational datasets; strong Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot, VBA a plus).
Qualifications:
7+ years in enterprise FP&A/TBM roles supporting Engineering or IT.
Proven track record independently running OneStream planning cycles and Apptio cost-allocation models.
Advanced financial modeling and variance analysis; able to explain budget drivers to both engineers and CFOs.
Hands-on experience negotiating and managing multi-million-dollar technology contracts.
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to distill complex cost models into executive-ready insights.
Bachelors in Finance, Accounting, IS, or Engineering (MBA or CPA/CMA a plus).
U.S. work authorization required.
