Salary: $60.00 USD Hourly - $65.00 USD Hourly
Description: Our client is currently seeking a Avionics Test Engineer III for a contract in the SeaTac, WA area. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with the following:

Test Engineer Responsibilities:

As an Test Engineer at our company, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and testing electrical systems and components. Your work will span various projects, from small-scale household devices to large-scale electrical power systems. Here are your key responsibilities:
  1. Test Plan Development:
    • Create comprehensive test plans, procedures, and scripts for shock, vibration, thermal, humidity, and vacuum testing on both high and low voltage flight hardware.
  2. Verification Testing:
    • Conduct verification testing, including power-on, functional, acceptance, and qualification tests.
    • Document test results for high and low voltage distribution, power regulation, and conversion hardware.
  3. Integration and Troubleshooting:
    • Support the integration of vehicle hardware and necessary analysis tools to verify unit performance.
    • Debug and troubleshoot hardware and software issues in a lab environment.
  4. System Integration and Review:
    • Assist with wiring, hardware installation, and test bench setup during integration and test activities.
    • Participate in design and system reviews, providing valuable feedback on integration and testability throughout project phases.
  5. Technology Development and Communication:
    • Contribute to program-level technology development, mission assurance, and safety initiatives.
    • Effectively communicate development status, risks, and challenges to management.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of electronics hardware development, including high voltage switching, power regulation, and advanced electronic products.
  • Proficiency in analog, digital, or mixed-signal circuit design, simulation, troubleshooting, and part selection.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, power, grounding, and board layout principles.
  • Experience with special electronic test equipment and troubleshooting tools.
  • Proficient in using standard electronic lab tests and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Programming skills in C++ and/or Python.
  • Familiarity with NI Labview / TestStand.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • U.S. citizenship, permanent residency (), or lawful admission as a refugee or asylum seeker.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Over 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with large-scale avionics verification in autonomous spaceflight systems.
  • Background in supporting spaceflight system testbeds.
