Job Details

Job Title: GIS Architect

Duration: 12+ Months

Location: New York, NY

Job Details:

  • Lead end-to-end GIS solution architecture and implementation for utility clients (Gas & Electric).
  • Evaluate client's current GIS landscape (e.g., geometric network, legacy systems) and recommend migration strategies to Utility Network.
  • Lead prototype and develop implementation roadmap, including effort estimation, resource planning, and commercial proposals for full-scale Utility Network deployment.
  • Conduct architecture workshops with client stakeholders to align solution vision, integration touchpoints, and technical feasibility.
  • Architect solutions using Esri ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcFM, and related technologies.
  • Provide technical leadership across project lifecycle from planning and design to deployment and support.
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of GIS systems in multi-tier, multi-machine environments.
  • Support proposal development, client presentations, and pre-sales activities as needed. Lead Technical and Functional design workshops with the customer

Qualification:

  • Bachelor s/ Master s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
  • 15+ years of experience in GIS techno-functional roles, with at least 5 years as a GIS Architect.
  • Strong domain knowledge in Gas & Electric Utilities asset management, outage management, network tracing, field mobility, etc.
  • Proven experience implementing GIS solutions in the North American Utility market.

Skill Set

  • Experience with cloud deployments (Azure/AWS), containerization, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.
  • Understanding data governance, security, and compliance in utility environments.
  • Certifications in Esri technologies or TOGAF/Solution Architecture frameworks.
  • Knowledge of FME
  • Azure (Azure Data factory, Azure Data Explorer, etc.), Microsoft ADO boards (Code configuration & Task tracking tool)
  • Ready to travel to client locations as needed
