Job Description:

As an L3 Network & Security Project Engineer, you will design and implement secure, scalable network solutions tailored to business needs within an export-controlled environment. You will lead hardware planning, procurement, technical deployments, and firewall/security management to ensure operational excellence and compliance.

Responsibilities:

Network Solution Design:

• Scope, define, and architect end-to-end network solutions aligning with business and technical requirements.
• Conduct site infrastructure assessments and hardware lifecycle analysis (EOL evaluations).
• Propose alternatives aligned with the GEV Vernova Tech Stack standards.

Hardware Planning & Procurement:

• Develop and recommend device refresh strategies based on security and business priorities.
• Prepare and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) alongside GEV SPOCs and site teams.
• Coordinate procurement logistics and delivery timelines.

Technical Implementation:

• Lead deployments including configuration, testing, and circuit builds.
• Provide remote technical support and coordinate local assistance when necessary.
• Create reusable network solution templates supporting scalability and security.

Firewall & Security Management:

• Monitor firewall rule logs and manage IP migrations, including overlapping subnet scenarios.
• Collaborate with security and business units to analyze traffic, define firewall rules, and manage risk approval processes using Panorama.

Compliance & Optimization:

• Ensure assets meet Transition to Operations (TTO) compliance, including tools and monitoring.
• Conduct cleanup of unused configurations and perform impact analyses.
• Follow formal change management processes for all network modifications.

Documentation & Handover:

• Document detailed network designs, build configurations, and diagrams.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer and provide post-implementation support to operations teams.
• Utilize ServiceNow for project documentation, task tracking, and case management.
