Job Details
Prominent is helping our client add a Mainframe Developer to their mainframe team. This is an onsite role based in Greenwood Village, Colorado (Omaha, Nebraska may be considered) and is a contract to hire. The Mainframe Developer uses their strong programming skills and knowledge of mainframe systems to ensure optimal system performance by reviewing designs and/ or code for testing, and debugging mainframe software applications.

Duties:
- Modifying mainframe applications using programming languages like COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS. Performing performance tuning of mainframe systems and applications and conducts support activities with remote team members.
- Ability to solve problems, code, test, and deploy application fixes in a fast-paced SLA driven environment.
- Codes and tests high priority and critical changes utilizing COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
- Meets with project managers to provide daily or weekly project statuses.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent
- Ten+ years of software development engineering experience.
- Working knowledge in an IBM Mainframe environment – proficient with COBOL, JCL, DB2, and working with IBM Mainframe ZOS toolsets.
- Strong knowledge of the following: DB2, IDCAMS, SyncSort; File-Master; File Transmission (FTP/NDM); The following would be nice to have: REXX; Endevor; Clarity; Jira
- Experience in technical design writing and documentation.
- Proficient with usage of MS office – Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint
