Wireless System Architect III

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Wireless System Architect III to lead the design and architecture of wireless provisioning and activation systems supporting Charter’s Spectrum Mobile platform. This role requires deep expertise in Java-based systems, wireless telecom technologies, and enterprise-level system architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive design and architecture for wireless provisioning and activation systems

• Translate business and technical requirements into end-to-end architecture solutions

• Design and support Network Services Layer platforms, systems, and components

• Create solution and epic-level design documents for cross-functional initiatives

• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Teams, Enterprise and Systems Architects

• Develop proofs of concept leveraging emerging wireless technologies

• Analyze system interactions and assess impact of platform changes

• Define performance, scalability, reliability, and security requirements

• Provide technical guidance and support to project teams

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or foreign equivalent)

• 10–15 years of experience in software development using Java

• 8–10 years of experience in system/solution architecture and design

• Strong experience with design and documentation tools:

  • Jira, Confluence, Lucidchart, Visio, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• 8+ years of telecom experience, specifically wireless systems

• Strong knowledge of wireless access technologies: WiFi, 4G-LTE, 5G

• Ability to understand and work with 3GPP wireless specifications

• Experience with provisioning and activation systems is highly preferred
