Job Details

Sanden Corporation has an immediate need for a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Wylie, Texas.

If you have experience in as a Mechanical Engineer specializing in in automotive application design, compressor development and FEA and would like to take the next step in your career, we would like to speak to you!

As a Sr. Mechanical Engineer you will:

  • Be responsible for developing products in compliance with Sanden and customer requirements.
  • This role will compressor concept development, design, testing, and reporting with engineering theory/logic.
  • This role will also include training for other engineers and staff.
  • Other responsibilities include technical support for projects related to manufacturing.
  • Execute product development by achieving technical goals.
  • Achieve technical goals and tasks with PDCA for product development.
  • Develop engineering solutions for suppliers and cross-functional members to meet required needs.
  • Develop engineering laboratory testing methods and equipment.
  • Coach/mentor engineers and other staff based on expertise.
  • Achieve departmental execution plans and goals for product development.
  • Ability to develop new concept design products.
  • Develop engineering solutions for customers, suppliers, and cross-functional members to meet required needs.
  • Achieve design consensus by resolving technical issues globally.
  • Coach / mentor engineers and other staff for Design Engineering growth based on expertise.
  • Work with other Sanden locations to ensure product designs are consistent.
  • Provide technical support to internal customers.
  • Conduct a technical feasibility study for new product configuration.
  • Support / participate in project team(s) as engineering expert.
  • Other projects as assigned by management.
  • Establish engineering reports independently.
  • Establish technical presentation material for internal and external customers as needed.
  • Responsible for awareness and compliance with company Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Contributing to the effectiveness of the EHS policies and procedures by communicating and reporting unsafe conditions and/or non-compliance.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in automotive application design, compressor development, FEA analysis knowledge, Vehicle and compressor Testing knowledge / Skills, and HVAC system knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of current computer technology and applications such as CAD, CAE, and MS Office applications.
  • Knowledgeable of IATF-16949 and ISO-14001 procedures.
  • Good communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (MSME preferred)
  • EPA-608, EPA-609 preferred
